Can you believe we have been running this site for just over a month now. Time flies when you are having fun.

Just wanted to leave a few notes on here for folks to digest.

1) I added a section on the sidebar to a special blogroll, linking out of town guests. Hopefully this list will grow in the coming months. It certainly seems that people are making an effort to come up to Toronto to get together with us.

2) All emails regarding TAP can now be sent to torontophotoblogs@gmail.com. I set up a special gmail account specifically to deal with blogroll additions and other TAP correspondence.

3) If you haven't noticed, I have set up a discussion mailing list. If you haven't signed up for it already, Now is a great time to.

4) Check out the FAQ for other features of the site.

5) You may have noticed that I have been posting the topics for the regular weekly meme stuff. In the past week, I have been suggesting that people leave comments on the post if they submitted to that specific meme. (ie Photo Friday)

Also here are some numbers to crunch on.

We currently have 90 photobloggers listed in the Toronto Area.

We have 45 people whom have blogware accounts with posting access to the site.

We have 29 people who are subscribed to the mailing list.

Trafficwise, we are currently getting an average of at least 500 distinct hosts per day

We are also serving anywhere between 1000 to 1500 pages a day.

So where do we go from here. Personally I would like to see more people posting more often. If everyone posted some content once a week, every week, it would be more than enough to get the ball rolling.

Seen a new product? post it.
Have a spare picture? post it in the photoblog.
Like someone elses picture? post it in the noteworthy section
Really digging someones site? post it in the spotlight section
Heard about a new show? post it in the exhibit section

I would like to thank Brandon from photoblogs.org for providing the subdomain for the site. Brandon will be offering other cities subdomains off of photoblogging.org in the near future for other metro photoblogging communities. I'm happy to say that we are the first.

I would also like to thank Joey and Ross from Blogware for the generosity and help. They provided the initial blogware account which we are using for TAP and are my support system with all thing technical on the site.

Feel free to start linking to the site. http://photojunkie.blogware.com will still work, but please start using the new url.

You may have noticed that there are pictures on the site now. Basically I have started up a TAP photoblog. Last night, I also added in a gallery of images from the last photoblogger get together at The Rhino.

Also, I have added a TAP FAQ. It has info on how to get added to the blogroll, how to become a contributor and all that fun stuff.

Maybe you have photos from the get together that you might want to add to the gallery. Sign up for a reader account, and I'll hook you up with posting access. All I need is your username. Having a user account also allows you to leave comments and add text content. So get yours today.

Things are running smoothly here on the site on day two. I've added everyone's link and a number of people have piped up and asked me to add them to the blogroll. We are currently just short of 70 photobloggers listed.

You may have noticed there are also blogrolls for other community sites, blogs about photography and local retailers.  If you have any link you think I should add, please pass them along.

A number of photoblogger who already had a blogware account on gtabloggers.com  are already set up to post and contribute here as well. If you want access to, it's a simple as creating a reader account and letting me know your username.

This will also allow you to post  to the photoblog, which is also accessible from the left sidebar.

Hopefullly by the end of the long weekend, we will have the permanent url in place. I'm working on it.

After great success with GTABloggers, I decided to start up a site specifically oriented towards Toronto Area Photoblogs.

In the past 6 months, there has been an wonderful increase in Toronto Area Photoblogs and our monthly get togethers are becoming bigger and better each time we meet up. So it's about time we had a proper site to spotlight all this talent.

The site will contain information regarding upcoming events, along with posting regarding photography, photoblogging and related topics.

Hopefully this will be the beginning of something special.
